Did ftp install with iso 0.7, did manage to install kernel by makin mnt/tmp dir but the config files are all empty ?? before when i made a pure iso 0.7 cdrom install the files where written with standard code, how come they are not in ftp install ??? or is just me i take it is but plz help

try reinstalling the other packages. most likely your setup didn't complete the previous step. in the /arch/setup run Install Packages again. Should correct your problem.

my guess is that you either did not select done in a previous step (ie partitioing and mounting) or you backstepped at one point. either will create blank config files. you have to start all over.
