Hi 2 all!
After the full system update, Firefox3 doesn't render any text. Images and some buttons seems to be rendered as normal, but all text fields and text itself aren't rendered. The problem seems to be related only to Mozilla Firefox and Midori (another web browser).

Why did you need the "f" in the update? My guess is that caused the problem...

Have you first checked to make sure that the text isn't just white? I know that seems stupid, but given that you have a theme that probably recommends white text, it's certainly possible.
What exactly was upgraded?

Total system upgrade was done. Firefox2->Firefox3, kernel 2.6.23 -> 2.6.27 exc... Fontconfig installation script has printed some info about /etc/conf.d, maybe it's the reason why Firefox doesnt display any text.
2jwcxz: I've tried to do some copy-paste with web pages displayed by Firefox and to switch to another GTK theme, but it was useless..
Sorry for my very poor english, it isn't my native language...

You forced about a year of updates in one go ? I marvel at your courage...
Midori is webkit based, right? You only have the problem with these two browsers? have you tried another one?
Offline
Yeah, I know I haven't updated my system since February 2007... Yes, the only problems are encountered with Firefox. There's another "little" problem: if I want to mount an ISO cd image with
# mount -o loop Image.iso /mnt/iso
It prints out:
> mount: could not find any device /dev/loop#
For the rest, all works fine, now I'm writing from Opera, that seems to be working good.

Since some time ago you have to load the loop module to get the loop device.
modprobe loop
and then just go on mounting, or just add loop to your modules array.
Regarding the browser issue, have you tried another browser based on xulrunner, like epiphany?
Offline
No I haven't. Now I can't download all that dependencies that epiphany requires (it's a part of Gnome desktop, right?), because of my poor internet connection. ADSL 8Mb will be active only after two-three weeks I think that Midori is based on xulrunner
Thank's for the suggestion on loop modules ) Now I can play my games in Wine...
