Forgive my lack of technical chops here, I'm not entirely sure how to check what's the culprit here, I can just give symptoms.
Since I went to Arch64 last Friday, I've noticed that my machine feels like it's always spinning. There's always that light vibration under my hands (I'm on a notebook) and it's always much warmer than it was under i686. I can't get conky to read the temperature of my HDD for some reason so I'm not sure exact temps there.
I have cpufreq in "powersave" mode at the moment, though it happens under "ondemand" as well. It's really getting on my nerves.
And in the midst of such perfection,
I can't help but feel diseased.

You may try the laptop-mode, usually that spins down the hard disk.

Hm. I had it installed, but not thrown into my daemons. That seems to have helped a bit, but I'll keep fiddling with it and see if I can get things back to "perfect".
Thank ya, kind sir.
