Looking for KISS MP3 folder organizer

I'm loving apps like MPD and MOC for playing my tunes, but I need something to keep my files organized in a consistent folder structure.  Say I want to add a new directory of MP3s that I've downloaded (legally of course :) and I want to add them to my folder structure with some automatic renaming of files based on ID3 tags.  Are there any good tools out there that handle this?  Preferably a ncurses / console app so I can run it directly on my server.

I know about Picard and easytagger.  Easytagger has way too many dependencies and picard isn't really what I'm looking for.

ID3 mass tagger accepts a -f switch, which seems to help you do the job right.

Keyboard + hands + ex falso + file manager.

Not an automated solution, but I'm obsessive about my mp3 tags and folder structure and its the best one I've found so far.

vim? EMACS? Pssh, I code in Scribus.

Hmm, that's a good start.  I would probably need to wrap it in some scripts to do what I want to do.

Re: Looking for KISS MP3 folder organizer

I'm also very obsessive about my mp3/flac/ogg collection. about 70000 songs, from which 7000 are random songs in a seperate directory, and the rest is in albums. I use picard for all the albums and tag the seperate songs by hand when i download them.
I couldn't  manage this much albums without picard! All of the albums are renamed, moved automatically when i rip them. Just load into picard, set a move/rename rule according to your wishes and let picard take care of storing it in your collection. Picard has the advanage of musicbrainz sync, so whenever the MB community changes something, it's also changed on your drive (when you re-scan/ save). If an album is not on musicbrainz, just add it, and help the database grow:)

Seconded.  It's not automated, but then, I don't like too much automation.  It only becomes bothersome if I fall behind and have to do a lot at one time.  If I keep up as I go then I have no problems.
