Hi,
I run XCFE4 on an iMac alu and when I let the computer idle, the screen doesn't turn off completely, it goes black, but the backlight is still on.
I have a backlight script to keep it at a certain value but I don't know if that is the problem...
Anyone have an idea of what could be the problem ?
thx
EDIT : nevermind, it works now...
EDIT 2 : It doesn't work !!!
So, what am I missing, powersave/pm-utils/hibernate-scripts ?
How can I track the bug and crush it ?

That is a blank screensaver as opposed to turning the screen off. I know in gnome you can use power management, there is probably a similar tool in XFCE.
Fustrated Windows users have two options.
1. Resort to the throwing of computers out of windows.
2. Resort to the throwing of windows out of computers.

Try using xset to controll the dpms settings.

Option "DPMS" "on" (xorg.conf, Monitor section)

On my laptop I have DPMS on in xorg.conf, and it works fine -- i.e. screen does turn off.
But, if I switch to one of the virtual consoles and then back, it never works after that until I reboot.
What might be the problem in this case?
Thanks.
