no sound with dell 1420, alsa, intel 82801H
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)
alsaconf no error , regconized my sound card correctly.
aplay some.mp3
no error, but no sound.
[root@nb ]# cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
dell 1420 newest arch.

open alsamixer, maybe you need to unmute something?

Did you just install? If so, you don't have to mute anything, alsa mutes things by default. Did you try alsamixer anyway?
Oddly enough though, _my_ sound just stopped working, everything behaves like something is muted, but I already checked. I'm also using an intel sound chip.

i tried alsamixer.
it's not my first time to setup alsa, i think i've done everything right.
