Openbox and Xorg

Hi guys,
this time i am trying to install only OpenBox-session nor gnome nor kde with it. So i run into majore problems but by reading the wiki i solved them one by one...except

$/#~/.xinitrc (or) exec openbox(-session)
Openbox-message:Couldn't set locale from environment.
Openbox-message:Failed to Open the display from the DISPLAY environment variable.

i have all the fonts needed so thats not the issue...
Searched here in the forums and from google though i dont get encouraging results...

Have you setup your locales?

Re: Openbox and Xorg

You should run startx instead. That will execute whatever is in your .xinitrc
