Archlinux Gaming Repository

Hey all!

A few of us have put together an arch gaming repo, which is basically a collection of some of the popular games in [unsupported], to save archers compilation time. We've also patched up many broken games that wouldn't compile. Visit our wiki for more information.

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

Very much thanks, Sir. I do appreciate this kind of efforts, if it weren't for our community using Arch Linux would not be as fun as it is now. wink

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

Alrighty, well I was on a brief hiatus there for a month or so, but back now. We've lost a few packagers but a couple of us are still going to maintain the repo. There still an interest in keeping this around? tongue

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

I use it. If needed I could occasionally do some packaging. Probably not full-time, but if the need is unusual here and there.

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

alrighty guys, big update.

We've moved to a new arch server (yay! big_smile), and finally did a complete update on our database and wiki.

Thanks to our team (especially Black Mage wink), we are proud to announce that *every* single open source game that wouldn't compile, we have fixed big_smile

happy gaming!

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

Very nice smile
Keep the good work going

edit : it seems that the repository status wiki as many packages wrong-listed as non free (enemy territory, palneshift, padman, savage ...) that actually are free, maybe not open-source. It can be confusing

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

every game on our repo is obviously free in monetary terms tongue

the "free" category on our wiki refers to free software as described here. everything else is considered non-free.

soon, actually, I think we're introducing a third category "open", where the source is available, but you can't modify/redistribute it, etc.

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

Hi guys,

I think there's somethong wrong with your openal-soft package, see below:

[20:36 TA|catwell] pacman -Si openal-soft
Repository : arch-games
Name : openal-soft
[...]
Replaces : openal

Because of that, the arch-games users are asked following question every time they Syu:

:: Replace openal with arch-games/openal-soft? [Y/n]

I think this package shouldn't replace openal. It is indeed an optional replacement for openal but not an update. Is it possible to change that?

Re: Archlinux Gaming Repository

Most of our third-party mirrors are out of date...if anyone is using them please switch to our main one. Thanks.

Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties.

Try waiting a few minutes and reloading.

(Can't contact the database server: Unknown database 'arch-games' (localhost))

do you also provide pkgbuilds? I'm too paranoid to install binary packages from foreign sources
