Re: October 2008 Screenshots

How'd you get the pidgin icons down in the corner?  Been looking for a way to do that.

Yeah it's tint at the bottom for 1200 px. then trayer.  The conky is a modified version of one I found on lifehacker here:  http://lifehacker.com/5068294/beautiful … onky-setup .  It has setup instructions and scripts right on the page.

I couldn't remember where in the hell I got the wallpaper from so I had to upload it:

Re: October 2008 Screenshots

Third shot this month! I'm on a changing spree.

Clean
shotshotnewcleanxs3.th.pngthpix.gif

Purposely dirty for your pleasure
shotshotnewut5.th.pngthpix.gif

Dirty, and without transparent terminals. Debating whether or not to have them transparent.
shotwotransmu1.th.pngthpix.gif

(Note: I usually will have most things tabbed with few frames)

This is ion3. Inquire for info.

Trayer.

pacman -S trayer

I launch it in .xinitrc:

exec trayer --transparent true --alpha 255 --edge bottom --align right --widthtype request --heighttype pixel --height 24 &

Re: October 2008 Screenshots

@chris_ak, could you please post your .conkyrc?
I have the original conky setup found on that page and i'm a bit lazy to do the pacman update script and search for the arch logo letter smile
Thanks.

I couldn't resist redoing my conky. I finally got bored with the old one.

I may have altered my GtK2 and emerald themes...

Emerald: I tweaked Smoke Glow by overflow (Gnome-look.org) and used truglass rather than oxygen

GtK2 Theme: BlackGarden

Cursor: Ecliz (from Gnome-look.org and it's holding Cairo open in the blank space)

I keep getting distracted from my webserver project...

huh? oooh...  shiny!

Re: October 2008 Screenshots

Can anyone help me understand what the two roosters as a background signifies?  Or does it mean anything?  I can't see a "link" between the two roosters and KDE.  Is it just the color or because the wallpaper is "cool"?

Honestly, I'm trying to understand why roosters are good wallpapers.  Why not a pig or cow?
