But in fact i'd like to do it w/ my custiomized arch live cd! that would be the final goal smile

To customize you need to make your own live CD. Here are guidelines how to do:

To boot with USB pendrive doesn't work on all machines. Alternatively boot with CD or floppy and then run with USB. As such, you can install and remove packages.

Eg i didn't found any mention of hwd in it, which is maybe the most important feature for me in the amlug live cd

Hwd is an Arch Linux package you can install by running "pacman -S hwd" or download from hwd's home page:

Sorry for repeating myself, but i'd like to see if it's enough to achieve the goal, or do i need to read/search for more information to be able to create this customized arch live cd?

The wiki page will be enough. To continue this discussion I prefer to use another topic: "Build your own live CD". This "AMLUG live CD" topic is for general.

...i cant get mysqld to work. when i try to run it it says something's wrong with /var/lib/mysql  (dont remember exact path).

Mysql is installed but kept dormant until installing the live CD content in HD (hd-install). Mysql data (/var/lib/mysql) takes lot of space consuming all free space in RAM. Currently amlug live cd has only 4Mb free space. Hopfully in next version more space will be available.

Re: Arch Linux (AMLUG live CD)

Amlug live CD has been considered as Arch Linux's live CD. After I tested the new Archie live CD (0.1) by z4ziggy, I am considering to make a change. Archie not only present Arch Linux but the speed is amazing. From boot prompt to desktop 55 seconds only.

Archie is still alfa and there are lot of work to be done. Anyone interested to test, give feedback and suggestion, please visit:
