[Solved] Kernel 2.6.26 on new installation

I have some hardware that won't compile on new 2.6.27 kernel (nevermind which).

I was wondering if it is possible to install old 2.6.26 kernel instead of 2.6.27 on NEW installation, and if so, how to do it?

When I execute -Syu it automatically downloads the newest kernel available.

In short, my question is: how to update to specific kernel version?

Re: [Solved] Kernel 2.6.26 on new installation

2.6.26.5 is the latest Arch had from 2.6.26.

If you're using nvidia/catalyst, you have to build them using ABS or find matching versions on those mirrors.

edit /etc/pacman.conf, uncomment the IgnorePkg line and type it as:

IgnorePkg = kernel26

as for the kernel, I found it here:

http://unix.net.pl/archlinux.org/curren … pkg.tar.gz

that solves this I guess.
