Vanilla KDE faster than KDEmod?

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured I'd put it here since I'm new to Arch.

I've tried installing the vanilla Arch KDE 4.1.x packages and KDEmod's KDE 4.1.x and vanilla Arch seems to perform significantly faster than KDEmod. Why is this the case? Is there something I could do with KDEmod to speed it up? I'd have thought KDEmod would be faster since it says that it's customized for Arch, "KDE on steroids", and all that.

Re: Vanilla KDE faster than KDEmod?

Afaik kdemod uses some backports from upcoming kde-4.2 which we don't.
