enabling multimedia keys in a dell vostro 1710...

Hi!

I own a dell vostro 1710, and wants to enable multimedia keys...
is this the right way to go?

First find out wether they create an acpi even or an xevent.

If they generate both or an xevent the way you have linked to would be correct. You can grab the x events with xev, and see if they create an acpi event with acpi_listen.
