SynCE ... the libs and more --- a general question

from http://synce.sourceforge.net/synce/tarballs.php:

Visit the project filelist (will be opened in a separate window) and download the following .tar.gz files:

synce-X.X.tar.gz for SynCE 0.8 or later includes the following .tar.gz. archives. They can also be downloaded separately.

synce-librapi2-X.X.tar.gz

synce-synce-X.X.tar.gz

synce-dccm-X.X.tar.gz

synce-serial-X.X.tar.gz

synce-rra-X.X.tar.gz (optional)

libmimedir-X.X.tar.gz (only in SynCE 0.8 or later)

synce-multisync_plugin-X.X.tar.gz (for address book synchronization, requires rra)

synce-trayicon-X.X.tar.gz (suggested for GNOME 2.x users)

synce-gnomevfs-X.X.tar.gz (suggested for GNOME 2.x users)

rapip-X.X.tar.gz (suggested for KDE 3.x users)

do you think this is best to be put in one pkg.tar.gz or separately? ... i think separately is better, because if one lib is upgraded, then you have to update only the one ... but on the other hand, they belong together, because they only work together ... suggestions?

considering the way most things are in arch, I would package them seperately.  just make sure all the dependancies are correct smile

i was busy on other things (university) and didn't care to make things sync for me :-(

it would be really nice, to have these things packaged - i'll maybe have a look at them after the 30.09. (last exam this semester)

I tried making a pkg a year ago too...couldn't get it to work and gave up.

If you you're just looking to sync files (like I was) you can use unison: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/

It works on linux and windows.
