What taskbar is that reasons? And am I wrong to assume it displays the menu of the active app just like what OS X's taskbar does?

It actually runs really well. Think I was in the process of opening up firefox when I took that shot. Though I wish I could go with a lighter browser, I cannot get away from Vimperator.

There is another shot of it running. With the cpu scaled down as well.
Hey, can you tell me what you use to get the battery and whatnot displayed in dwm's bar? Thx...

Using conky to populate the status bar. Which I took off the DWM arch wiki and tweaked around a bit.

Just the normal gnome-panel with this applet:

You'll need vala4 even though it says you don't=

If you want a lighter version of FF try firefox-spookyet http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=17975
I used it and it is faster then teh standard and also a hell of a lot lighter then the Arch packaged one.

After looking through this thread I feel like switching to awesome again... so many good looking tiling-wm shots!
I'm still using xfce & compiz-fusion atm.
It's a shame that conky doesn't support background pixmaps... had to put them on the wallpaper!

What panel are you using? Or is that some apps strung together to look like a panel?

I imagine he has an album cover desklet that he has configured to display right there, and he edited his .conkyrc so that nothing would be in the way of it.

First the colors and font and urxvt settings (.Xdefaults):
*color0: rgb:24/24/24 *color8: rgb:82/82/82 *color1: rgb:bf/79/79 *color9: rgb:f4/a4/5f *color2: rgb:97/b2/6b *color10: rgb:c5/f7/79 *color3: rgb:cd/cd/a1 *color11: rgb:ff/ff/af *color4: rgb:86/a2/be *color12: rgb:98/af/d9 *color5: rgb:96/3c/59 *color13: rgb:ef/9e/be *color6: rgb:7f/9f/7f *color14: rgb:71/be/be *color7: rgb:ff/ff/ff *color15: rgb:de/de/de
That is the sexiest colour settings! I just registered to tell you that!
I have been opening various files in vim and and scrolling up and down like an idiot. I'm not normally like this, honest!

Exactly.
I've just created a small screenlet that is one layer above conky on the widget-layer.

@ Nikke and rostoQ: Sorry guys, I missed your requests...The vim theme is "desert" which I'm pretty sure is a stock theme.
I've uploaded the latest Xdefaults to our website: http://cinderwick.ca/files/configs

Does stump handle that automatically? In ratpoison, I have to do some jenky framesetting to make that happen. That's why I resorted to independent heads.
I have multiple displays setup. Stumpwm has a function (sother) that switches between x displays. Supposedly, Stumpwm can work with Xinerama, though.

@kazuo
Can you post your conkyrc and any scripts you have for it as well? I'm more interested in the calender than the gmail, but feel free to post whatever.
For calendar I'm using palcal (pacman have it but a old version http://palcal.sf.net). I uploaded the scripts:
http://soc.if.usp.br/~kazuo/pal_conky.tar.bz2
But, this is hack. I cannot make my urxvt to be but put fixed at the desktop so I'm using conky to display it, I parser the console output using python and let conky parser it. I dont know what is better (urxvt or conky) but this solution is working great for me.
The colors follow my choice for terminal colors (and are hardcoded on python script), and you probably need to change the font.
For gmail it is not done yet (and I'm ashamed to post it... ^_^) but I post it when is done...

Thanks! ^____^ (I do that things too... As you see my ss only have one open app: a terminal. I use it a lot so it is better to look good.)
