Orage and Openbox

I've just install Orage.
I launch it from a shell, the problem is that I can see the process running, but I can't see the program window.

Any idea?? Thanks.

Re: Orage and Openbox

You need to install a system tray, I think Orage defaults to the system tray.

Re: Orage and Openbox

Well you only provided half of the essential info wink.

Does

pgrep orage

return anything?

If not, does launching orage from a terminal provide you with any usefulinfo?

Re: Orage and Openbox

Well it looks like it was already running (otherwise pgrep would return nothing), you have other stuff sitting in your system tray? What does Orage's documentation say about launching it with a window instead of docked by default?

Re: Orage and Openbox

I've empty my system tray.
Doc says that I should configure it on the config file, the problem is that Orage doesn't create it.

I've been looking for internet and lots of people have problems, does you know any similar app???? (I prefer lightweight software) thanks

Re: Orage and Openbox

I don't know anything lightweight like that, sorry. You might want to ask people for their config files and start with those though. That might help.

Re: Orage and Openbox

I have exactly the same problem with E17. I notice that the xfcalendar.desktop and xfce-xfcalendar-settings.desktop files have the line:

OnlyShowIn=XFCE;

I have tried commenting out these lines as they are not in other .desktop files, but no change. Similarly, adding E17 or enlightenment.

Re: Orage and Openbox

Well, don't know what the OnlyShowIn=XFCE; line does, because I have tried with and without it it in Xfce, Openbox and E17, and it makes no visible difference in any of them.

However, I have now sorted the problem in both Openbox and E17, and as ever, the solution is simple and obvious (after the event....). I ran:

xfce-setting-show orage

The "Show in systray" option was unchecked. Once I checked that, no surprise, it now appears in my stalonetray. I still get the errors on the terminal, but I'm not bothered by that.

Re: Orage and Openbox

That line just means it will only show up in XFCE's menu, not in any other DE's menu.
