Different search in pacman (pacman -Ss)

Is there any way to modify the behavior of pacman -Ss? It would be good to show in a different way the Installed and the Non-installed packages. Maybe with different colors. Is it possible to do the output in only one line for package instead of different lines for package/description?

Maybe there is some extern package with more powerful search options. Thanks.

there is also pacsearch which is part of the pacman-contrib package
