Hi, is there a chance to see xorg 7.4 hit the repos within a few days (or weeks)? Maye it has not been tested enough?
Thanks for any reply.

We still have to fix some regressions latest intel driver introduced... But the move shouldn't be far away.

Last I heard there were still issues with it when using closed source drivers(especially ATI if I recall correctly), I guess that might be part of what's holding it back. I haven't really followed that for a few months though.
I haven't lost my mind; I have a tape back-up somewhere.

Switching to testing may be considered "safe" enough? I have an ATI card... (x1600)

I'm using testing on two ATI systems with no problems. One with a Radeon 9250 (R200) and the other has a X1650 Pro (R500), both with the free -ati driver.
And even if you want to use Catalyst, fear not. Andy took care of that one, too. ;-)

Using xorg from testing breaks the plasma systray and composite on KDE4 (using intel graphics). Tried twice and failed twice as well....

The new Catalyst gives corruption on full-screen OpenGL programs with some cards, like my HD 3100.

Is there anything we can do to help getting xorg 7.4 into extra? I searched for related bugs but I didn't find anything. Is there a tracker bug or something like that?

The xf86-video-intel package needed downgraded as the newest version is buggy. There has been talk about moving it to [extra] soon.
