hi all
it's freshly installed system
i run pacman -Syu for the first time and everything else was fine but the new kernel
i've tried many mirros it's always the same problem
that the download stops at %7
error: error downloading 'kernel26-2.6.27.4-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz':
Success--------------------------------------------------] 7%
error: failed retrieving file 'kernel26-2.6.27.4-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz' from
ftp.free.fr : Success
warning: failed to retrieve some files from core
error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
i then remove the half-downloaded file from cache
and then now pacman complains that the file is currupted
what shall i do ?

Yes, I did. Mine stopped at 60%
After awhile I pressed Ctrl+C and started pacman -Syu again and it went to 75% and stopped. So I did the Ctrl + C again and it finished the download.
The following applications downloaded just fine after that. I figured it may have been a server hiccup so I did not think much of it.

Hi,
I was experiencing same issues as the ones reported by elford when trying pacman -Syu.
I've tryied to manually download kernel26-2.6.27.5-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz and I received this message ( I'm currently at office ):
This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Name: XPACK.GEN_82 (Trojan)
Maybe trying to download kernel package at home...

Weird, I've encountered the interrupted downloads over the last 3 or 4 upgrades. I have many mirrors so I don't think it's that. I had thought that it might be dropped packets etc. with my connection but testing precluded that.
