Creative Zen not detected

Hi.

I have a Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB. I want to use it with mtpsync and mtpfs but:

When I plug it in:

$ dmesg
(...)
usb 5-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5
usb 5-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
$ lsusb
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046d:c03e Logitech, Inc. Premium Optical Wheel Mouse
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001

So lsusb doesn't detect it. I don't know wether it is normal or not.

Once It's plugged:

1. mtpsync does nothing when i click on the sync button.
2. In computer:/// appears a new icon called "Creative Technology, Ltd Creative Zen Vision:M" but when i double click on it an error message pops up saying: "No se pudo montar el lugar (Couldn't mount the place). Error initializing camera: -105: Modelo desconocido (Unknown model)". My system is in spanish, a put the translation between "()".

My /etc/rc.conf:

Re: Creative Zen not detected

I had the exact same problem. mtp-detect worked as root but not as my username. you just need to add yourself to the camera group with:

usermod -a -G camera username

replacing username with your username
