Xorg: Left cursor

I am left-handed, and use the mouse left-handed (when I use it). There must be some way to configure xorg to use the left-cursor style so that the cursor is pointing the opposite direction than normal. Is this possible? If so, how can I do it?

I've been looking up on search engines and can't find any good results.

Re: Xorg: Left cursor

$ xsetroot -cursor_name right_ptr

but some apps might provide their own cursor (e.g. firefox).

That works for Openbox, Gimp, and some stuff, but not VLC and Firefox, like you said. So it is constantly switching back and forth. I wish there was some way to have it with xorg so it took control on every interface, but maybe that isn't possible. I don't know.

Thanks for that tip, though.

Re: Xorg: Left cursor

Find a cursor theme that is specifically for the left-hand, for example, Yellow-Dot Left-Handed.

Throw it in /usr/share/icons.

Change your ~/.Xdefaults file to use it:

Xcursor.theme: WhateverThemeYouChose
