Hello, guys.
I have asus m2n motherboard. I need to lower voltage of cpu fan. How do i do that?
In bios there is no such option. I hear that it is possible to do through proc file system,
i.e. using /proc/acpi/fan or somehing like that.

It seems that my motherboard does not support pwm

If lm_sensors don't work, is there any other way?

Doesn't your bios have a facility for that?

Well, there is amd cool & quite which is not working for some reason.
Also there is a capability to slow down coolers with 4 pin connectors, but I have 3 pin connector.

I have a Gigabyte motherboard and I use the built-in bios feature to control the fan speed. There's is a similar feature in ASUS motherboards, it's called qfan.
You don't have to have a 4 pin fan header, mine has 3 and it's working fine.
Good luck.

thanks, idosh. qfan is actually working but had to connect cpu fan to cha_fan header. Apparently it's not working with cpu_fan.
