Yet another suspend/hibernate problem

Hey - thanks for reading.

Using the simplest of methods, pm-utils, I get really close to being able to suspend. My system does its thing in what appears to be the proper manner, and pops back up with X running perfectly when I resume. However, it's useless due to this problem:

Input/output error.

Basically this happens whenever I execute any command in the console, and nothing happens. It happens when my system tries to execute a command and therefore I can't launch anything with the menu, I can't shut down with ctrl+alt+delete. (Though I can kill X with ctrl+alt+backspace, but from console I get the same error.)

...help? I can't find anything on this anywhere.

Anything of interest shown in /var/log/pm-suspend.log?

Re: Yet another suspend/hibernate problem

Not really. Just a bunch of /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/MODULENAMEHERE suspend success, and a few not applicable.

The last message is DATE performing suspend
