firefox fonts

My firefox doesnt seem to use the correct fonts on websites or displays them too large for some reason

http://www.vexar.de/arch.jpg - http://www.vexar.de/ubuntu.jpg

On ubuntu the font is smaller and fits into the website as it is supposed to, the used font on the website is Tahoma with 8pt size.
I already installed the ms-ttf font package and tahoma is located in /usr/share/fonts/TTF/tahoma.ttf and i also can select it in the firefox preferences for the default fonts (which has no effect on how its displayed on the website tho).

Any ideas on how to get it displayed correctly? ^^
