Hi since I installed Arch two years ago, I never had any problems with playing encrypted DVD.
Last time I did play successfully encrypted DVD ~2 months ago. I did try to play it again yesterday but unsuccessfully.
At first I got error regarding css cracking so I deleted~/.dvdcss and downgraded libdvdcss to the previous version
This got rid of the css error, but still could not watch dvd.
I also installed previous versions of xine unfortunately this did not help either.
I have seen so bugs reported but no real solution to the problem.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Thanks

out of curiosity:
is Arch ignoring encrypted DVD and people are installing another distro alongside Arch just to watch DVD or there is a solution to the problem?

There must be, Animal House in its latest release is playing in the background, as I type, launched thru xine-ui.
using xine-lib 1.1.15-2
libdvdnav -0.10-3
libdvdcss-1.2.10-2
xine-ui-0.99.5-4
Might want to try deleting .xine or maybe a toga party .

thanks
the only difference I see is libdvdcss:
I have installed
libdvdcss-1.2.10-1
O.K.
I will try to delete .xine and see if this will help.

deleting
~/.xine
worked
Now I can watch DVDs again.
thank you
