[SOLVED] keybinding media player

Hi
I am new to Arch and need some advice - I have to do a transcript of some mp3 files and it would be very helpful to be able to use keybidings for play/pause/forward 10s/back 10s straight from a text editor.
I was thinking that i could assign the keys in Xfce keyboard options - but would need to have a comand line player capable of that? Are there any other options?

Thanks in advance for help.

You should try extra/moc: "An ncurses console audio player with support for the mp3, ogg, and wave formats". Once started, it can be controlled from the command line (see mocp --help).

Re: [SOLVED] keybinding media player

Thanks. No it should be - THANKS. And I thought im in a tight spot here.
It integrates like a charm with the Xfce keyboard settings and keybindings AND doesnt bother OpenOffice.

Just for the record - tying mocp commands:

mocp -P mocp -U mocp -k 15 mocp -k -15

will allow for pause/unpause/ seek by +/- 15secs from any place in Xfce big_smile
