Power Point Viewer

Hello Everybody,

I'm looking for a viewer that can show me some Power Point Slides (Not OOo and certainly NOT MS Power Point) smile

I would like to use it as a viewer that captures .pps attachments in my mail.

Does anyone here ever heard of such a program, and where to get it ?

Thanks !

Re: Power Point Viewer

As I recall, the power point viewer was often sent along with the power point data.

I suggest that you may have luck if you put power point viewer on a CD for your use in presenting the power point materials that you wish to display.

The only viewer I can find must be running inside Wine, but that's not what I want.

Isn't there something similar to epdfviewer that can view .pps/.ppt files ?

Re: Power Point Viewer

Why isn't open office good enough for the job, if I may ask? It seems to me the best choice for a native solution, at least.

Re: Power Point Viewer

Well, I'm toying around here and want the lightest solution possible.

Actually this is the only reason that keeps me from switching from Gmail to mutt.

I dont use Open Office, and wont install such a big package just to view some slides smile

Re: Power Point Viewer

The AUR package xlhtml will convert ppt to html (don't know if converts pps or not).  Google docs will work also (depending on file size).

Re: Power Point Viewer

pps is just ppt with a different extension. Changing the extension from ppt -> pps makes powerpoint open it in show/presentation mode.

There is a powerpoint to flash converter available but I only tried the software on MS I don't know if there is an opensource alternative..:)
