Moving windows in DWM/Awesome is very slow

Heya, I'm having problems moving windows in DWM/Awesome. When moving windows it goes really slow (the windows can't keep up with the mouse pointer, at all) and the X process suddenly uses 100% of both CPU cores. Any ideas of what might be wrong?

Anything else I should supply? This is really annoying me.
