Segment fault, running alsamixer [SOLVED]

I've just installed Arch64 with success. I rebooted and added my user, but when I was going to configure alsa, I got Segment fault when starting alsamixer:
alsamixer: Symbol 'acs_map' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking sad

Did I do anything wrong here?

I don't really know, but the output of ldd `which alsamixer` might be helpful.

Windows was made for looking at success from a distance through a wall of oversimplicity. Linux removes the wall, so you can just walk up to success and make it your own.

It was the commad line "alsamixer" you use during the installation procedure, described in the Beginners Guide. I tried to reinstall "alsa-utils" several times, still got the Segment Fault. But now after having installed xfce4, it suddenly works. Funny ...  Don't know why.
