Broken mp3s when ripping from mtp device using Gnomad2[SOLVED]

Compiled the latest version of Gnomad2(--prefix=/usr/local) and mtplib(--prefix=/usr) from source because the AUR packages were giving me trouble regardless of what I tried.

Gnomad seems to be working fairly well despite the occasional segfault(I suspect this has somthing to do with my mp3 player; it normally happens when I'm copying files to my computer which I believe to be corrupted on my players HD). My player is a Zen Vision: M.

In any case I can transfer mp3s from my device and everything seems fine but they won't play in anything vlc/mplayer/etc. I'm not sure why. Any suggestions? I do have the correct codecs.

Edit:
Forgot that I had to run gnomad as root. The files were imported with improper permissions. All is well.
