Two-finger zooming in Xorg 7.4

I've been googlin' around for this but I can't find how to make it work. Zooming in Firefox for example... It should definetly be possible. (Like on macs or the iPhone ans such...)

Has anyone managed to do this? Two finger scrolling and tapping and all that are now working for me.

Re: Two-finger zooming in Xorg 7.4

is that really possible?

you're using two-finder-scrolling? i have enabled it, but it does not work well. that means, i can scroll with to fingers, but when i leave the touchpad, it sometimes (more than i want) behaves bad. scrolling down, jumping around on the page. i disabled horizontal scrolling.

bye iggy

sorry for my bad english smile

Re: Two-finger zooming in Xorg 7.4

I think it wouldn't be possible with most of the (synaptics) touchpads on the market now. Quoting the Synaptics TouchPad Interfacing Guide:

The TouchPad still reports a single pair of X and Y coordinates even when
multiple fingers are on the pad. In current TouchPads, X and Y will report the point on
the pad midway between the fingers. (Future TouchPads may use a different convention,
e.g., always following the first or the last finger to make contact with the pad.)

Iggy, I had the same problems with two-finger scrolling, there was a thread on this before. I created an AUR package with a patched kernel module which solves the problem. See http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=37540 and http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=21387 .
