Hello gentlemen,
I have a problem with the fonts in FE Asian home pages not working well in Firefox, after having upgraded to freshest gnome packages and to Xorg-server 1.5 and nvidia-96xx 96.43.09-1.
I am not sure where to start to look?
Browsing Asian home pages (for example yahoo.co.jp) makes scrolling very erratic and jumpy, with the fonts all messed up. I couldn't reproduce the same issues in Opera, which work like a charm.
The most recent Firefox upgrade that I did couple of days ago didn't produce these problems so I reckon it must something else.
A screenshot of Firefox and a Japanese home page:
Any idea?

Someone wrote he had to reinstall gnome and pango after the xorg update (why ever...?). IIRC, Firefox uses pango, opera not. Hope this helps.

Ouch. Reinstalling Gnome? Maybe it's worth a shot. My wife nags me about this one since she is the one who needs to browse Asian home pages.
This incremental gnome upgrade has some weird quirk - using up & down arrow triggers the Take A Screenshot feature.
