Speeding up powerpill?

Hello, I'm kinda new to powerpill and I've already installed it on my Arch.  I do download or install packages via powerpill but I haven't had modifications to it yet.  I been using it out of the box.  Are there additional hacks to do for improvements because I do have a slow broadband connection...Hehehe
