how to install xorg 7.3 instead 7.4

hi! i'm going to install arch today and i need some help. How can i install  xorg 7.3 instead 7.4?

since arch is a rolling release there are no binary packages for xorg7.3 available anymore.
guess it would be kind of difficult now that most packages are build for xorg 7.4.

You will probably have less problems with a clean install than the update problems you see here on the forums. Just read the documentation and the related topics on the forum before you install so you know what to expect.

You may have luck installing from a deliberately outdated repository, such as adding this (and commenting out all others) to your /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist:

Server = http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/sun … po/os/i686

There are also other outdated repositories around and other means of installing old packages. Try it out and get back to us. Make sure to read and have readily available the Arch Beginners Guide Wiki page.

You will then need to look up how to (and which packages to add) add IgnorePkg and IgnoreGroup lines to /etc/pacman.conf after you have the old 7.3 version installed, then update to the new mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and continue to update your system outside of xorg accordingly.
