Xorg 7.4 screwed up my colors

Hi everyone,
I've problems with colors in the new Xorg. The screen looks like it had just 8 colors instead of 24-bit palette. I've no clue what causes this, everything worked fine before the upgrade.

The default color depth is usually 8 bit unless you specify otherwise. But you are specifying DefaultDepth 24. If you don't ever use them, how about commenting out the 8-bit and 16-bit options altogether?

Hi,

Maybe is because in Device you have 

Identifier  "Videocard0"

and in Screen section:

Device     "Card0"

And should be the same in both places? So in Screen section:

Device     "Videocard0"

I hope that help

Edit: I see you have two Device Sections for video card, So I don't know if I said could work :S

I'm getting exactly the same problem, and error messages, as this. Reading the ubuntu-fr post, I see that the poster has the same laptop and video chipset as me [an Acer 5002WLMi with the SIS760]. I know it's not the best video chipset in the world, but it worked OK prior to the recent xorg updates.

For me adding sisfb module to /etc/modules worked.

NOTE: sisfb module *MUST* be loaded at start. It means that it's not enough to load it using 'modprobe sisfb' and restarting X server. It *MUST* be added to /etc/modules, after a reboot it starts to work.

I tried doing this to my setup, but it didn't help on its own. I also had to make sure that I had enabled all of the options in my xorg.conf in accordance with the Arch wiki page:

Once I did that, I got my full colour palette back again.
