Does
Option "AllowEmptyInput" "False"
in ServerFlags section help if you disabled hotplugging?
What iscat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep WW
?
I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to launch KDE :-) This solved my main problem with xorg (Compaq Presario C700).

I, at last, put the hotplugging off. guess this stuff is a bit lazy, and no gets significant improvements for me, let this thing get a little time to mature
I agree with that sentiment Seems like there are very few people with a knowledge beyond 'this-worked-for-me' at the moment. And if you haven't got a collection of seven-buttoned mice and hebrew-lettered keyboards, hotplugging's not all that interesting (well, from a functional view point, anyway - from the knowing-what-makes-your-computer-tick viewpoint every improvement's interesting, obviously)
I say disable and return in a few months time to leech off other people's learning-from-their-mistakes....

I have the problem that up key is print screen and numeric pad is not working ...

I do have that problem too... but only since this afternoon. I did not upgraded anything. It might just be because I changed some config...

Same problem after upgrade to XOrg 1.5.
When i press Up arrow key, "Save Screen" dialog appears, when press "End", Panel menu popups, But, on menu popup or on GDM, press up arrow is correct, I think is is a gnome bug?
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AutoAddDevices" "False"
EndSection
to xorg.conf and it solved it for me.

I've the same problem in GNOME. Under KDE though the keyboard seems to work fine...

Section "ServerFlags" Option "AutoAddDevices" "False" EndSection

Thats more a hack than a solution... It disable hotplug input, so you need a valid entry in xorg.conf.
Its sad to disable completly this just because of a couple of bad keys...

Yeah its a pain... I wanted to keep hotplug, so the only way is to add a keyboard layout chooser in your DE... So in XFCE you need an applet, which is space wasting....

Quick heads up for those who don't know: The bug has been fixed, though I don't know if the Xorg update has already been put into the official Arch repo.

I have a problem with my Logitech Media Keyboard 600 and the new Xorg. If I press the "mute" key or the volume selector, xev show me this output:

How can I fix this?

It is a gnome bug, deleting .gconf .gconfd .gnome2 .gnome2_private resolved all problems (up arrow and numeric pad)
sure not all of the folders needs to be erased, but I do not know exactly witch one.

I've erased all but nothing happens. I logout from my user. Should I have to restart X? BTW, I use XFCE4...

Finally got this working for me after a lot of searching.
Similar to the Gnome/KDE/Openbox fix, and I guess related to the "just mv your .Xmodmap aside" hack, so YMMV. I use dvorak, switched with a line in my .xinitrc; all I had to do* was explicitly state that I wanted to use evdev:
setxkbmap us dvorak -model evdev
*y'know, aside from the required google-fu and lots of trying to use man without arrow keys

I upgrade to the latest ver of xserver, (pacman -Syu) and now hotplugging is working...
I want to learn, want to experience.

Hello all!
just an FYI. I discovered, for me, this problem was a KDE 4.1 bug (unsure if it still exists in 4.2) with the KDE 4 config: kaccessrc. From Geekystuffdot net:
I googled and discovered the problem was in my ~/.kde/share/config/kaccessrc file. The SlowKeys attribute was set to true (SlowKeys=true). I set the attribute to false (SlowKeys=false) and all is well once again.
Dada!

Should we create a bug in bugs.archlinux.org? I haven't seen this problem in any other distribution.
