Add engines... not working in Firefox

When click the drop down G button on the search bar to Add engines such as other search engines, it pulls up a web page where you can click on a search engine to add.
When you click on the search engine you want you get the dialog box saying it is added, but it does not appear in the G button drop down list to choose, anybody have an idea how to fix that?

I've noticed this behavior through several Firefox versions in the mozilla-firefox package.

Thanks,
Craig

Re: Add engines... not working in Firefox

Run firefox as root to install engines. I don't know why, but it insists on installing them to the firefox directory in /opt; you'd think if a user tried to install them it'd install them to the home directory, but... no.

Re: Add engines... not working in Firefox

I was able to run Firefox as root and create the needed engines.
Thanks for the fix!

You can also give writing rights to everyone for the /opt/mozilla-firefox/lib/forefox_pkver/searchplugins folder.
