Hi,
Dbus et, consequently HAL, servers can't start.
Dbus says "unable to find UID et GID for user dbus" .
Unfortunatly, i'm not very confortable with dbus server to understand the error myself..

Try reinstalling dbus and dbus-core.

For some strange reason you need to manually create user/group dbus . If you google the error message you get you will find the commands you need. I do not understand why this is so. It was not this way.

I reinstall dbus, dbus-core, hal, avahi .
# sudo /etc/rc.d/hal start
:: Starting D-BUS system messagebus [BUSY] Unknown username "avahi" in message bus configuration file
/bin/touch: initialisation des dates de `/var/run/daemons/dbus': Fonction non implantée
[DONE]
:: Starting Hardware Abstraction Layer [FAIL]
Now, HAL doesn't want to start anymore, and it's really annoying since mouse conf depends on it .

Btw, it seems that hal started "alone" works :
# sudo hald --verbose=yes --daemon=yes
19:25:33.951 [i] hald.c:669: hal 0.5.11
19:25:33.951 [i] hald.c:678: Will daemonize
19:25:33.951 [i] hald.c:679: Becoming a daemon

Btw, it seems that hal started "alone" works :
According to the wiki: When HAL initializes it will check for the presence of D-Bus and load it automatically. If you have dbus in your list of daemons, remove it, since it can cause problems.
