vim (not gvim) crashes disturbingly frequently[SOLVED <- my fault]

I don't understand how no one else could have failed to notice that vim in the terminal just randomly freezes up every few minutes. The cursor still blinks and tells me I'm in INSERT mode, but I can't type anything. Is this a side effect of the kernel resize bug? Is there some secret command to freeze the program? Anyone else notice this problem?

"kernel resize bug" ? Could you elaborate?

vim has never frozen on me. Are you using it over ssh? Is you ssh connection dying? Are you hitting Ctrl-s? Ctrl-s fiddles with flow-control on a terminal. Try hitting Ctrl-q next time it freezes. See if that helps

Thanks phrakture. I was hitting Ctrl-s.
