Right, I've installed xserver-terminus-fonts from tehdely, and done cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc && mkfontdir as well as xset fp rehash. Then I've edited .Xdefaults to include urxvt*font: ter-124b, but no joy; urxvt won't run. I've even extracted all the .pcf.gz's in the terminus directory, and still nothing. I've added the FontPath to xorg.conf... so what could be up? :?:

urxvt*font: xft: terminus:bold
Try the above.

Yeah, thanks man, worked like a charm; I didn't realise it was an aliased one.

i can't install the non-xft terminus font installed the terminus-font package through yaourt but a
urxvt*font: -*-terminus-medium-*-*-*-*-150-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1
in .Xdefaults leads me to a non-opening-because-a-font-not-found URxvt
Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

I had this problem before, and I don't really remember how I fixed it.
pacman -Ql terminus-font shows a whole bunch of files in /usr/share/fonts/local.
My /etc/xorg.conf has this line in the "Files" section:
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/local"
Does yours? That might be the problem: you have to tell x.org where the font is.
Also: first check if the terminus font shows up in the 'xfontsel' utility. If it does, it's not a path problem, but probably because you specified the font-string wrong.
