Visualboyadvance: White screen when trying to load Rom

When attempting to load several different roms, I'm presented with a white screen instead of the game. This happens with both gvba and vbaexpress.

Re: Visualboyadvance: White screen when trying to load Rom

have you tried running it from the command line without a frontend to see the output? VisualBoyAdvance /path/to/rom

He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.

Re: Visualboyadvance: White screen when trying to load Rom

Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is it just me? Even a simple "yes I am experiencing this problem" could be helpful. I'm not sure if it's an isolated situation or if I should complain to the main devs.

try mednafen instead.  mednafen includes a proper port of vba, last time i checked the official sdl port was pretty crippled.

Re: Visualboyadvance: White screen when trying to load Rom

works fine here with stock config.
i get the same output as you besides these 2 lines

Empty value for key captureDir
Empty value for key batteryDir

it looks like your config is messed up, you (or a frontend) uncommented some lines and didn't put a path for them.

I will give this a try when I get a free moment. Thanks for the input.

I'll try looking through the config files for some sort of hint (for completeness sake smile ). Thanks for the input, as well.

Re: Visualboyadvance: White screen when trying to load Rom

Turns out it was a case that both of my Roms that I was trying were bad. I was considering this to be a possibility, but the idea that both were damaged seemed far-fetched for whatever reason. Thanks for the help.
