I am installing Arch for the first time. I have a Linksys EtherFast 10/100 LAN Card (LNE100TX) Version 4. I am trying to add it to the modules part of the rc.conf file, and don't know the module name that corresponds to it. Can anyone help me out?

Not to be rude, but I simply took the name of your card "Linksys Etherfast LNE100TX" and searched google for that and "linux module"...
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& … tnG=Search
The very first link on there lists what module to use...it's called "tulip"
It's usually best to search for these things and check the vendor docs before asking these types of questions...

no i really hate that article. while i understand what he is talking about that damn thing always pisses me off because it is so bitter and, at least a while back, it was very ..... rude? uncourteous?
not to mention raymond just rubs me the wrong way.

i agree the article is callous, I do think it serves a purpose
and I'd rather not repeat what he said... "search the web and check documentation before you ask a question that is answered on page 1"...

Ok, thanks. So, do I just type tulip in the MODULES line, or do i need to install something, and reference it, etc.?

just add tulip in the MODULES=() array like so:
MODULES=(tulip somethermodule someothermodule)
