suspend doesnt work propertly after 2.6.27 upgrade

Hi guys and girls,

I had the upgrade to 2.6.27 two days ago in my 64install and suspend doesnt back my work anymore. To go suspend, all works, blank screen, led flashing, all looks ok. But when i press the power button to back from suspend, the laptop reboots, all start from BIOS. I made the same upgrade at my 32bit install and suspend still working normally, without problems.

So, to try discover the problem, I made a downgrade in kernel and my nvidia driver (nvidia and nvidia-utils), since this require the new kernel. After reboot, I tested the suspend and all works! So, the only thing what I think is a new kernel problem. So, where is the problem with 64bit kernel?

Same problem, but on 32-bit installation... Intel Core 2 Duo with 2G RAM, and Intel GPU. Still trying to find out, as the logs aren't terribly helpful.

Same problem, although with 32 bit install as well. I can suspend, but can't resume from it. Logs look normal.

Hibernate and suspend have always been a bit shitty in Linux. You can't really trust that it works after a kernel upgrade. I have found that TuxOnIce, Hibernate-scripts and uswsusp worked pretty well before 2.6.26 (after 2.6.26 pm-utils just works). Try that.

Re: suspend doesnt work propertly after 2.6.27 upgrade

thx a lot for this thread, had to downgrade my kernel to get suspend work again...

EDIT: it worked exactly one time... and I don't know what causes the problems, also occurs if not in X (I have a Dell XPS M1330)
