Installing gnome
I installed gnome, and started it, but all i get is a terminal, a clock, and some side terminals. What's wrong?

you have to start it before you can use it.
echo gnome-session >> ~/.xinitrcshould fix it 
To err is human... to really foul up requires the root password.
