well, as the subject says, my keyboard was fine until the update. I'm using gnome, by the way. My layout isn't dvorak, and I can't change to it, and my "up" arrow key has become the 'screenshot' key. Help on fixing this?

Hi, it's broken for me too, but I'm using KDEMod. Hitting the up arrow key opens up ksnapshot. In addition, hwd doesn't work anymore...

Be sure to have xorg-server 1.5.3-3 installed and set your keyboard model to "Evdev managed keyboard" inside GNOME or KDE. Setting it to anything different breaks keymaps and attaches keycodes to different keys.

Where do I set the evdev option? It's not in the GNOME keyboard preferences

It's a common issue related to the way the latest Xorg configures the keyboard. See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … d_Settings , http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … otplugging and all the topics on the forum with people complaining about this.

Did you read the links that freakcode provided for you and that are linked to several dozens of times in the past two weeks?
The configuration of input devices is now handled by HAL, not in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Zl.
