I've got two visual problems with Gnome 2.6 from current:
1: When starting an app, the short animation right after you click an icon in the panel leaves a XOR drawed line on the absolute right on the screen. After starting a second app the same way, the line disappears (since its XOR'red).
2: When adding an application (nvidia-settings in my case) to sessions -> startup programs the splash screen does not disappear after a login. I have to click the splash screen or start an application to make it disappear. Removing the application from sessions -> startup programs also solves this problem, but I want nvidia-settings to start.
Is there something I can do to resolve these?

Update: I upgraded to gnome 2.8 last night. But its still the same. If someone could give me some pointers on where to look so I can try to fix this or file a bug report in the right place.....
Edit: Ah, found the splashscreen bug including a workaround:
