Re: In need of some good artwork or: We need a logo and colors :)

Not to be a hater but i think it looks a little bit plain. To me it looks like a flower, what does that have to do with Arch+kdemod?

ROFL. Well, a chakra _is_ a flower of a kind, so don't be surprised.

Re: In need of some good artwork or: We need a logo and colors :)

Congrats for the very nice and original logo!

The lineart and "flat" (first from the left) logos are simply perfect.

However I believe the other logo style, could be a bit more oxygen-ized. Similar to the official Oxygen KDE logo.

Just a suggestion, although I believe that is your intention with the logo.

Actually, they're more like this (without the ball in the middle):

Foxbunny, thanks a lot for your work. I really love your logo and already implemented it in Tribe.

Now I'd like to ask you just one last thing: I'd like you to create a nice icon for Tribe, the installer, maybe based on the Chakra logo. What do you think about that?

Hey, guys, that's very nice. BUT.... I think it's illegal. I believe the "Imagine" campaign is trademarked by Samsung. (DISCLAIMER: I'm not a lawyer, so sorry if I'm worng. tongue )

BTW, that installer is sweeeeeet.

Haha smile Ooops, i am not so into this stuff, so i wasnt informed about that... Well, Samsung uses "Imagine" while we are using "Imagine..." - and its also a common word and our "product" has nothing to do with anything Samsung produces... At least here in germany (thanks god that we still have _some_ proper laws here) this would be blocked/ignored by every court if Samsung would decide to sue us for that smile But if they show us their patent for the word "Imagine", then we could talk about changing it tongue

Yes, tribe is really sweet. Both Dario and Lukas did a marvellous job with programming the frontend (i am only responsible for the stuff you will never see), and we are really getting towards stability now...

We'll come up with a better campaign if you get that letter from Samsung. wink

Re: In need of some good artwork or: We need a logo and colors :)

I'm looking forward to your project with great anticipation. It MIGHT be the one distro I've been waiting for. Elegance, speed, simplicity and kind of elitist. PLEASE don't make it a SUSE with Arch under it. Keep it nice and elitist and don't go over board with user friendlyness or graphical tools. Assuming you're making an integrated configuration tool, please don't make a YAST, make it transparent for the (experienced) user to see what is going on. Actually, DON'T focus on user friendlyness a bit, please smile
If you ever need any kind of 3d graphics done, please do give me a shout.

Uh, no one is forcing you to use the GUIs, at all.

I agree, changturkey. User-friendliness has many benefits including a potentially large user base, which in turn means more helping hands.
