Kernel Speed

I am interested, what is it that makes the ArchLinux kernel boot so fast compared to other distro's or even vanilla kernels?

Re: Kernel Speed

So there's nothing inside the kernel that does the magic? Just init stuff ...

To compare, I now run completely vanilla kernel, and it boots just as fast (haven't tried with stopwatch, but hey. Don't feel any difference tongue). Good initscripts ftw.
