Asus Eee Box

Hi! tonight my mediacenter computer with really old harddrives crashed, so i started looking for something small and preferably noiseless to have next to my HDTV to use as an mediacenter with xbmc or boxee. Then i found Eee Box from Asus, how easy would it be to configure this tiny machine with archlinux?

Re: Asus Eee Box

I'm running Arch on my eee 901.

There are two very large threads here in the forums in the Kernel subforum, also two indepth wiki articles here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … sus_EEE_PC and here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Asus_Eee_PC_901

Re: Asus Eee Box

Yeah i came to the same conclusion that it would probably be to slow, but there is a new eee box in development that i think would make it for hdtv playback?

So its basicly the same as configuring and eee901?

Re: Asus Eee Box

it uses hardware decoding on a ATi card so it would be basically the same under linux.
