KDE 4.2 Beta Crash

I've been using KDE 4 SVN for a while now without problems. But I think ever since I upgraded to Xorg 7.4, my KDE 4 crashes. It crashes a few seconds after the desktop is fully loaded. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Re: KDE 4.2 Beta Crash

You need to be more specific.  No we don't know why this happens, because we don't have your log files, we don't have your hardware details, and we don't know what crashing is.  Try searching the Wiki for 'Xorg Hotplugging', that might be the answer to your problem.

You can find your log files at /var/log
.log files contain the log of the current session
.old files contain the log of the last session (this is what you want, because this is where the crash would be)

next time please be more informative smile

Re: KDE 4.2 Beta Crash

I had problems with kde4.1 when i upgraded to new xorg... i solved it by fixing my locale problem.

Somehow that what was messing things up, you can also try to use gdm to login and in the dropdown box choose english as language and see if you can get it login.
